I never thought that when Art Group had to stop meeting in March 2020 that our virtual group would still be thriving one year later.

Someone suggested we paint at home every Wednesday and had tea and cake at 3pm; somebody else said “let’s email our pictures to each other.”  We knew nothing about Zoom back then. Now we have theme each week.  Spring themes became Summer holidays, Autumn fruits, Christmas cards, back to Spring and so many more. The paintings piled in but our group became so much more; a group of locked down friends who have shared tales of illness,  surgery, spouses illness and even bereavement as well as happy times. We have stood on each other’s doorsteps, met on dog walks, shared cups of tea in gardens in the summer, sent flowers but mostly just painted. And now we can look forward to going back to the Octagon on Wednesdays. We will meet again.
